McCormick's history began in 1831, when Cyrus McCormick invented the agricultural harvesting machine. It was his flair for innovation, leadership, and business acumen that helped pioneer agricultural technology create International Harvester, one of America's most famous agricultural companies.

In 1851, McCormick harvesters were presented in Europe at an exhibition in London, where they were awarded the main award. In the next few years, this header model triumphantly wins awards at all European exhibitions. The reason for such a serious success was not only the successful structure of the header, but also the very aggressive marketing of the company. During this period, until 1860, McCormick becomes the largest among the companies that produce machines for agriculture.

In 1886, the Chicago fire completely destroyed the McCormick Reaper factory, but a safe with documents was saved from the fire. After all insurance claims, Cyrus McCormick's personal loss was $600,000.

On August 12, 1902, Cyrus McCormick Jr. created the International Harvester Company, bringing together several leading agricultural equipment manufacturers - Champion, Deering, Milwaukee and Plano.

By 1911, the International Harvester Company opens three factories in Europe: Sweden, Germany and France, but tractors are not yet produced there. In 1919, the McCormick Farmall tractor was created, it is still considered the tractor, thanks to which, starting in 1922, the United States was industrialized.

In 1937, the production of tractors in Germany began, equipment with a power of up to 15 hp rolled off the assembly line. By 1940, 3938 McCormick FARMALL F12 tractors were produced. In 1938, the International Harvester Company buys a site in Doncaster (Great Britain), but does not have time to build a plant - the Second World War begins.

In 1939, after the outbreak of World War II, the factory was requisitioned by the Ministry of Supply for the needs of the front. 1945 was the only year in 60 years of continuous tractor production when not a single tractor was produced. By 1946 the Doncaster factory was taken back by IHGG and production resumed. 1946, the plant in Neuss (Germany) is modernized and it starts producing tractors again. The capacity of the enterprise is 50 cars per day.

In 1972, the International Harvester Company ceases production of McCormick tractors at factories in England and Germany. By 1975, when production was stopped, 22,300 of these machines had been produced.

In 2001, McCormick Tractors returns to the US with the creation of McCormick International USA.

The first American McCormick tractor rolled off the assembly line in Pella, Iowa. In 2006, Argo merged McCormick USA with Landini, creating one company with two very successful brands. The company moves to Norcross, Georgia. By this time, McCormick products are already sold in more than 55 countries.

In 2008, McCormick introduces the latest CX, MC and MC Power 6 models. To secure more assembly room and future growth, McCormick is moving production three miles north of Duluth, Georgia. New production site of 120,000 sq. feet was 2.5 times the size of the previous one, located in Norcross, Georgia. Another step in expanding production was the consolidation of factories in Keele, Wisconsin and Baltimore, Maryland, into one facility dealing with tractor replacement units.
