The American company Cub Cadet specializes in the manufacture and supply of a wide range of minitractors and garden riders of premium class, self-propelled four-wheeled mowers, conveyors, chainsaws, snow blowers and other equipment.

The Cub Cadet brand was established in 1960 and belonged to the American company International Harvester (a well-known manufacturer of agricultural machinery and world-famous trucks International, manufactured by a subsidiary of International Truck and Engine Corporation), which established small tractors under the new Cub Cadet brand.

The first garden tractor from Cub Cadet was called Original, was equipped with a 7-horsepower Kohler engine.

In 1963, two models of mini-tractors were introduced: the Cub Cadet 70 with 7 hp. and the Cub Cadet 100 with 10 hp, after which the Cub Cadet technique gained widespread popularity and recognition. Since then, Cub Cadet garden tractors have been assembled on the conveyors of factories in Tennessee. Cub Cadet mini-tractors have been born there for more than fifty years.

During the period 1961-1981, slightly less than 50 different models and modifications of Cub Cadet garden tractors were produced.

In the first half of the 1980s, American agriculture experienced serious economic difficulties and difficult times came for International Harvester. The severe strike of 1979-1980 caused enormous damage to production, and the agricultural crisis of 1980 led to a sharp decline in sales of agricultural machinery.

In 1981, International Harvester was forced to sell its Cub Cadet brand rights to MTD , where the brand is booming and a leader in the group's premium segment.

Small and maneuverable garden tractors have come to the aid of large farm tractors, and have been very popular with landowners and farmers as they can mow, plow and care for fairly large plots of land. When developing small tractors and other Cub Cadet garden equipment, engineers pay great attention to the reliability and longevity of equipment, as well as convenience in operation and maintenance. Already in the first models of Cub Cadet mini-tractors, a hydrostatic automatic transmission was used to facilitate control - this speaks of concern for the consumer. Cub Cadet mini tractors have a large set of attachments, which makes them versatile assistants.
