FUSE CHECK
The integrity of a fuse string is extremely difficult to verify by visual inspection alone. To test the fuses, use a tester following the procedure described below.
1. Set the electrical circuit breaker to the ON position.
When the electrical system switch is set to the ON position, current from the electrical system switch terminal M is applied to the battery relay, thus energizing all circuits except the glow plug relay circuit. (See circuit diagram).
2. Remove the fuse block cover. Install the tester. (Measurement range: 0 to 30 V)
3. Ground the negative tester lead on the machine frame. Alternately touch the clamps located at a distance from the axis of the fuse block with the positive probe of the tester one at a time. If the fuses are intact, the tester will display a voltage value of 20-25 V (battery voltage).
NOTE: All terminals located along the axis of the fuse block are connected to the power supply, while terminals located away from the axis of the fuse block are connected to the load (consumers). For this reason, check the fuses using the same method, except for checking the glow plug relay fuses. Check the filament relay circuit fuse with the electrical circuit breaker in the ON position following the procedure in step 3.
