CODE 1002 - Short to 12V or Hitch Lift Valve Winding Circuit Failure
1002 - Short circuit to 12 V or malfunction of the hitch lift valve coil
Possible failure modes:
Defective connector
Faulty EDC valve lift solenoid
Defective wiring harness
Tractor control unit (TCU) defective
Solution:
1: Check connector C209 of the EDC valve lift solenoid and connectors C060 and C061 of the tractor control unit (TCU).
A. Make sure the connectors are connected and working, the pins are in the correct position and tight. Repair or replace as needed.
B. If the connectors are OK, go to step 2
2: Check the EDC valve lift solenoid.
A. Disconnect EDC valve lift solenoid connector C209. Measure the resistance between the terminals of the solenoid. If the measured resistance is not 2 Ohms, replace the EDC valve lift solenoid.
B. If electromagnet is OK, go to step 3
3: Check for short circuit to 12V power supply.
A. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position. Measure the voltage between terminal 1 of C209 harness side and ground. If voltage is found, repair or replace the harness.
B. If there is no voltage, go to step 4
4: Check for short circuit to 12V power supply.
A. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position. Measure the voltage between track 2 of the C209 connector and ground. If voltage is found, repair or replace the harness.
B. If the wire harness is OK, download the correct software version. If the problem persists, contact ASIST Support.
