Bomag

The status of the main innovator and leader among the world manufacturers of equipment and technologies for soil compaction has long been assigned to the German concern BOMAG. The company, which is part of the FAYAT Group holding, supplies to the international market a wide range of products from plate compactors, vibrorammers, combined, manual, pneumatic and soil rollers, multi-purpose compactors to asphalt paver, waste compactors, precision crushed stone distributors, road milling machines. The brand's equipment is used in a wide range of industries, including the organization of landfills, embankments, the laying of a roadbed, the construction of large infrastructure projects and complex hydraulic structures.

1950s

It all started back in 1956 in the German city of Boppard, when Karl-Heinz Schwamborn and Benno Kaltenegger decided to use vibration in the process of soil compaction. Already after a year of in-depth study of this topic, they created BOMAG - the Boppard Machine Building Company. It didn't take long before the inventors introduced the world's first manual twin-drum vibratory roller, followed in 1962 by the first self-propelled double-drum vibrating roller, model BW 200.

1960s

The young company grew rapidly. So, already in 1961, the first BOMAG branch was opened in Austria, and in 1968 the company moved to a new production site in Hellerwald near Boppard. In the same year, the first BOMAG waste compactor was introduced.

1970s

As early as 1970, BOMAG became the market leader in the segment of vibratory rollers thanks to innovations. Not resting on its laurels, three years later, the company launches the production of the first BW 211 soil compactor, and also introduces the first MPH 1 hydrostatic soil stabilizer.

1980s

The next decade also saw a number of innovations and cutting-edge developments. So, in 1983 the company presents the first compaction control system in its class BTM 01 TERRAMETER. Two years later, the production of tandem rollers with split drums and four hydraulic motors starts.

1990s

In 1996, the first VARIOMATIC automatic compaction force control system debuts on the market. In the same year, the production of ASPHALT MANAGER asphalt compaction measurement systems was launched. The next step in the development of vibration control systems was the release in 1998 of the VARIOCONTROL system for soil compactors.

2000s

With the advent of the new century, there have been global changes in the structure of BOMAG. So, in 2004, the company became part of the FAYAT Group, which grew from a small private French company into a world leader in the production of a full range of road construction machinery and equipment.

Our days

Today, BOMAG maintains a leading position in the international market for technologies and advanced solutions in the field of compaction, processing, milling, paving, roadbed and soil stabilization. The company offers an extensive range of specialty machines, ranging from tamping and vibrating plates weighing 60 kg, tandem and soil rollers, to asphalt pavers, cold milling machines, soil stabilizers and solid waste compactors weighing up to 56 tons.

A wide range of optional attachments, subject to mandatory BOMAG expertise and manufactured to high standards, optimize your fleet and increase equipment productivity.
